A successful cardiac screening event was held on Saturday, May 19, at Greenhill School, Tenby, with a total of 90 local people aged between 14 and 35 given electrocardiograms (ECGs) and a follow-up on-site check with a cardiac doctor.
The event was organised and paid for by the Huw Lewis Memorial Fund and was intended to identify any cardiac conditions such as the one that resulted in the sudden death of Huw Lewis in 2002 and, more recently, the collapse of Fabrice Muamba, the Bolton Wanderers football player.
The Huw Lewis Memorial Find would like to thank Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY), the charity that undertook the screening and provided the medical and support staff on the day, Greenhill School for enabling the event to be held there on a Saturday and the individuals (and in many cases their parents) who attended the screening session.
