A collection at Tesco Superstore in Haverfordwest on October 16 and 17 raised a wonderful £2329.89 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The collectors on the Friday were from the Saundersfoot, Tenby and District committee of Macmillan.

On the Saturday, friends from Haverfordwest collected for the Pembroksehire committee. The respective chairmen, Pauline Davies and Penelope Meyrick, thank Tesco, the collectors and the very generous public for this excellent result.

This month, Macmillan launched a new freephone number, 0808 808 00 00. This brought together their Cancerline, benefits helpline, cancer information nurse helpline and Youthline. It is especially useful for people in remote areas as it enables anyone with cancer worries or queries to get answers and support easily.
