A very successful carol service was held at Bethel Baptist Church, Loveston, on the Sunday afternoon before Christmas. The congregation enjoyed the familiar carols and listening to the children, young people and adults who contributed various items towards the event.
The children and young people who participated were Joe and Parry Phillips, Annie and Lily Wright, Gabrielle Davies, Wil and Tal Nicholas and Annie and George Phillips. Tom Wright was unable to be present owing to illness. The organist, Mr. High Tribe, needed all his musical skills while he accompanied the youngsters as they sang both solos and duets. Others shared in Bible readings telling the true meaning of Christmas.
To close the proceedings, there was an excellent tea in the schoolroom, provided by the energetic ladies of Bethel.
The chapel was tastefully decorated and it was a joy to all present to participate in the 'reminder' of Christ's nativity.
