Saundersfoot Rotary Club has offered a huge thank you to everyone who contributed to this year’s Christmas Shoebox Appeal.
Once again, Greenhill School in Tenby showed incredible generosity and community spirit, donating 114 shoeboxes from pupils, prefects, and staff!
Other schools taking part, donating extremely generously, were Saundersfoot, St Oswald and Sageston.
“Thanks to all our generous contributors, Saundersfoot Rotary Club has been able to send around 500 shoeboxes filled with gifts and useful items to people in disadvantaged communities across Eastern Europe,” said a spokesperson for Saundersfoot Rotary.
“Recipients include children in orphanages, hospitals, or poor rural areas, teenagers in care homes or special schools, families living in poverty, and elderly people with little support.
“Boxes are distributed regardless of religion, ethnicity, or background, ensuring help reaches those who need it most.
“This is a wonderful achievement, and these gifts will make a real difference to children and families this Christmas.”
The final totals were: 1st, Miller (35 boxes); 2nd, Webb (30 boxes); 3rd. Galahad (25 boxes); 4th, Devey (11 boxes); Prefect team and staff (13).
The school added: “114 shoeboxes! This is a fantastic achievement, and these gifts will make a real difference to children and families this Christmas. The Rotary International hope to collect around 600 boxes across Pembrokeshire, so our sizable contribution will go a long way toward helping them reach that goal.
“A special thank you to our VI Form Leadership Team, in particular Rachel, Flo, Evie P, Libby, Evie S, Jem, and Lily, for their hard work in driving the appeal forward.
“Thanks also to the wider VI Form students who have supported the organisation over the past three weeks.”
