STUDENTS Lewis Hassall and Georgi Sturgess recently ran the Cardiff Half Marathon on behalf of Crossroads Care Mid & West Wales.
The annual event is sponsored by Lloyds TSB and took place on Sunday, October 16.
The 13-mile course started in Cardiff Bay and took in many landmarks of the city, including the Civic Centre, Cardiff City Stadium, and the new BBC studios in the Bay
Over 15,000 runners took part, raising around £1m, which will go to over 800 charitable causes
Lewis is 20-years-old and currently studying primary teaching at Coleg Sir Gâr in Carmarthen
Georgi, 19, comes from Narberth and is studying law at the University of Glamorgan. She chose to support Crossroads Care Mid & West Wales as the charity had helped to care for a close family member
Crossroads Care Mid & West Wales works to support carers, and those they care for, living in Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and Powys
The organisation has a dedicated team of qualified carer support workers who can replace the unpaid carer for a period of time, usually in the home, to give carers of all ages a break from theirresponsibilities
To date, the students have raised over £100. If anyone would like to add to their fundraising efforts, please contact the Haverfordwest office on 01437 764639 or simply text CMWW08 £2/£5/£10 to 70070.
