"Local people clearly feel very strongly about the way house prices have risen out of reach of local people," said John Dixon, Plaid Cymru - the Party of Wales candidate for Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire. "We spent some time on Saturday, in Narberth and Tenby, talking to people about our policies and asking for their views, and it is clear that many agree with the proposals which Plaid has put forward. "There were few of those to whom we spoke who did not have a famly member affected by the crisis, even if they were not directly affected themselves, and particular concerns were expressed about the need to help young people in the area get onto the housing ladder," continued Mr. Dixon. "We collected people's opinions on survey cards, and will be analysing their views along with those from other parts of Wales. "It would be wrong to pretend that we believe that Plaid Cymru alone has all the answers, but this is a problem which desperately needs to be tackled, and we have put forward a number of suggestions which we think will make a difference. We will continue to campaign for the implementation of these policies."
