Motorists are being reminded by police that Tenby's Crackwell Street will be closed to traffic as of this Monday (May 14) while work is carried out to develop two town houses to the rear of Tudor Square.

Inspector Wyn Evans, of Tenby police, told the Observer yesterday (Thursday) that he, Pembrokeshire County Council officers and the contractors had met on site when the contractor confirmed that work would be carried out between 7 am and 6 pm Monday to Friday.

"At all other times the street will be clear and accessible," said Insp. Evans.

The road closure is expected to be in force for approximately 10 weeks, although it will be lifted for the next Bank Holiday Monday at the end of May.

Police and council officers will continue to monitor the situation throughout the closure.
