Flood warnings have been issued for the River Ritec in Tenby, as the Met Office has issued a yellow warning of heavy rain and wind tonight (December 8) - until Tuesday evening linked to Storm Bram.

A spokesperson for Pembrokeshire County Council said: “This is likely to lead to surface water flooding and difficult driving conditions.

“Natural Rescources Wales flood alerts are in place for coastal areas and there is also risk of dangerous conditions on coastal fronts with high waves and flying debris.

“Flood warnings have been issued for the River Ritec at Tenby and Dale. The situation at Newgale will be monitored.”

Roads at Amroth and Wisemans Bridge has to be cleared on Sunday by Pembrokeshire County Council staff, after being partially blocked due to debris washing onto the road following the high tide.

Great Western Railway (GWR) is warning customers it expects flooding to significantly affect services on Tuesday, December9, and is allowing tickets to be used on Wednesday, December 10 instead.

GWR will run a reduced train service because of the conditions, with flooding likely to cause significant disruption or delays.

There is also an increased risk of falling trees and other debris from high winds as the storm moves across the region, which can impact the safe operation of trains.

GWR will provide updates throughout the day and is encouraging customers to amend the plans, and to check before they travel if they must make a journey.
