A TEAM of brilliant young writers from Pembrokeshire has put together Pembrokeshire's first fictional newspaper - 'The Pemby Planet'.
The 2012 Young Writers' Squad have been meeting regularly at Haverfordwest Library with children's writer Dan Anthony, author of 'The Rugby Zombies'.
Working with 'Chief Editor' Dan, the junior reporters have produced stories, interviews and reports centred around the imaginary town of Haphazardwest - and the strange comings and goings of the local characters.
The light-hearted online newspaper will be available soon from the Pembrokeshire County Council's Library web pages at http://www.pembrokeshire.gov.uk">www.pembrokeshire.gov.uk
Pam Anthony, children and young people's librarian, praised the high quality of the work produced by the fifth writers' squad, which is run by the county council's library service.
She added: "This squad has been devoted to fiction writing with a journalistic slant and the team have had a great time writing their pieces and coming up with some really creative characters and storylines."
One of the young reporters, Geraint, aged 11, said: "I have really enjoyed every minute of Writers' Squad and thank you."
The young people also met Sarah Moore, a BBC Wales journalist, who gave them tips on how to conduct an interview.
She was very impressed with the group and thought there was some real potential there for the future.
