Sir,
Re. last week's headline 'South Parade concerns', as parents of teenagers we voice the same concerns, as do many parents, for the wellbeing of our children.
There was a piece in the 'paper from a child about the disco in Swansea and as parents who regularly travel to Time disco with our children and their friends we know it is a very successful evening, very well run and all done voluntarily by Swansea police. But what a distance to have to travel for our children so they have something to do and look forward to.
The only safe and well run venue in this area is the Tenby Youth Club that is voluntarily run twice a week by Anthony Harris and for which full praise should be given to him. Well done!
If there were more opportunities for our children in our area then maybe they wouldn't be bored and have to hang around the streets.
We would like to thank Inspector Clarke for his input and for sticking up for today's teenagers, as we regularly have teenagers to our homes and find them very polite and a pleasure to know.
So come on, stop knocking the kids and do something for them.
From concerned parents.
