Tenby Town Council's head gardener Kevin Taylor has hit out this week at thieves who have stolen a quantity of stones from the entrances to the town's cemeteries.
Eight large boulders were removed from outside the entrance to Tenby new cemetery some time overnight last Wednesday, while three large stones were also removed from a gatepost at the entrance to the old cemetery further down Slippery Back.
Mr. Taylor told the Observer that the eight large stones had been placed on the verges at the entrance to the new cemetery some years ago to prevent people from parking there and were painted white.
"We're not talking about pebbles here," said Mr. Taylor. "Each of them must weigh in the region of 20lbs, so it's likely that whoever took them needed a van to do so.
"I hope that who ever has them is happy with their new 'rockery'. Personally, I think it's despicable that someone has so little respect that they would steal from around a cemetery."
Tenby police are investigating the incident and anyone with any information is asked to contact them on 842303.
