Romance is in the air again at Manor House Widlife Park as their celebrity couple Steve and Lisa seem to be enjoying the high life after finally settling down into their home life.
For months, staff and visitors at the park in St. Florence have been eager to see Steve the gibbon swing into action with his female friend and take her out on a date into the open air, but Steve was proving a little shy.
All changed recently, though, as Steve finally crossed that bridge and joined Lisa on their island paradise, with fans delighted to see the celeb couple enjoying their new freedom in the trees and leaving postings on the Park's Facebook page with good wishes.
Owner Anna Ryder Richardson said the whole team at Manor House were bursting with excitement.
"I want to say a huge thanks to everybody who has visited Steve, or sent him messages willing him to brave the great outdoors," she said, going on to say that head keeper Ross, himself a gibbon expert, had played a blinder preparing Steve and adapting his access to the trees.
Ross said that Steve had now completely adjusted.
"It's like he's always known the freedom of the trees," he remarked.
Lisa has also played a small part in Steve's rehabilitation.
"It's a demonstration of the power of the love of a good gibbon," added Anna.
The team at Manor House are so pleased, that they are giving away two free day tickets to the person who leaves the best photo of Steve on his Facebook page, 'Steve the Gibbon at Manor House'.
