Fifty-seven players from the Tenby District and Town Darts Leagues toed the oche at the DSS Club on Friday night for the Sid Evans Charity Gold Cup competition.
The event was organised and run by district officials Digger Brown and Graham Thomas, who did a superb job keeping play flowing on the five boards.
The standard of darts was high quality, with a number of 180 scores recorded; also several high finishes.
The board winners contested the semi-finals, with results being as follows: S. Hughes (Jeff) 2 F. Bayliss (Crown, P) 1; Phil John (RFC) 2 D. Legrice (Jeff) 0.
The final was a keenly contested match played over five legs, which was won by the impressive Steve Hughes, who had performed well in all the early rounds, against another impressive player, Phil John (Tenby RFC), who had also been in good form throughout.
The final score was Steve Hughes 3 Phil John 1.
The trophy was presented to the winner by league secretary, Digger Brown, who thanked all the players for supporting the event; Chris Page and Les Cale (RFC T/L) for organising the raffle; Brian Carswell for his help with marking of the games; and the DSS Club for use of the venue.

Highest three-dart finish: 115 - Itty Thomas (Crown P); 101 and 100 - S. Hughes (Jeff).
Least darts: 14 and 17 S. Hughes (Jeff); 15 Itty Thomas (Crown P); 16 D. Legrice (Jeff).
POSTPONED COMPETITION
A reminder is given that the Pat Dart three-a-side competition, due to be played on Friday, December 19, has been postponed and will now be played early in the new year. The venue will still be the Jeffreyston Inn. Entry forms must still be returned by Monday, December 1, to enable the draw to be made for the competition before the Christmas break.
SIGNING EXTRA PLAYERS
Captains are reminded that when signing extra players to play on the night, the registration form must be filled in before the start of the game, signed by both captains and returned with registration fee in the result envelope.
