Saturday's walk was enjoyed by 22 enthusiastic walkers, who boarded the Silcox 381 bus to Haverfordwest from Tenby (writes PAE). We travelled through mist and rain, through grey countryside, only to be greeted in Haverfordwest by brilliant sunshine and dry pavements.
Fortunately, the rain held off for our three-and-a-half-mile walk, which commenced from the Picton Centre and was led by walk leaders Penny and Lyn Evans. Our Steps2Health walkers stepped out briskly, over the green and under the bypass, leading to Higgon's Well Park and Fortunes Frolic footpath.
This pleasant and undulating circular walk took us from County Hall, along Fortunes Frolic, Higgon's Well and along the footpath that runs alongside the Cleddau River. Taking in the wildlife and beautiful scenery along the way, it was then across the field towards St. Ishmaels churchyard, leading onto the main road in the pleasant hamlet of Uzmaston.
Our group of intrepid walkers stepped out along the Uzmaston road, turning off along the footpath, leading us back into Higgon's Well and then onto 'The Bristol Trader', where we enjoyed lunch and refreshments.
Tomorrow's (Saturday's) walk will be a town walk, meeting outside Sainsbury's entrance at 10.30 am.
