If many more people had turned up for Saturday's Steps2Health walk, there may have been a problem for shoppers wanting to find their way into Somerfield (writes B.S.)!
A record number of nearly 40 walkers were eager to spend an hour in the fresh air with sociable company.
Lyn Evans, as walk leader, had planned a longer route as befits his status as one who has completed marathons. No, not a 26-mile hike! Just as far as Penally, with the option of a shorter return for lesser mortals.
A good pace along the Esplanade and down to the golflinks path soon had everyone glowing with warmth. It was at Black Rock that walkers were given the choice to continue with Lyn and Margaret onto Penally or to meander through Kiln Park back to town for coffee with Barbara and Val. Tomorrow (Saturday) we venture further afield to cross the Cleddau Bridge into North Pembrokeshire.
The walk will start from Neyland Marina (Brunel Quay) at approximately 11 am. The minibus is already fully booked but, if you cannot make your own way to Neyland Marina, ring Paul on 07773 788173 to see if he can help with transport.
