Cameras have been rolling on Pembrokeshire's Steps2Health project, which aims to get people out walking to a healthier lifestyle. Friday's Steps2Health walk on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path was filmed by ITV Wales and will be featured in the 'Wales on the move' series on Sunday afternoons later in the autumn. The walk - from Coppet Hall near Saundersfoot to Wiseman's Bridge and back - took place in glorious sunshine. Walkers came from Tenby, Saundersfoot, New Hedges and the Pembrokeshire Social Services centres for adults with learning disabilities in Haverfordwest, Pembroke Dock and Tenby. Trained volunteer walk leaders Ian Ross, Kim Jameson and Liz Taylor came from Fishguard, Pembroke and St. Davids to guide the walkers and make sure everyone had a good time and stayed safe. Denise Packer, Jane Carling, Jim Poole and Val Coates-Rees, of Pembrokeshire Social Services, have also trained as walk leaders. They took special responsibility for their clients, ably supported by other colleagues from Social Services. Paul Morris, Steps2Health project co-ordinator based at the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority headquarters at Pembroke Dock, was delighted with the coverage and the weather. "Viewers all over Wales will see how lucky we are to have the fabulous Pembrokeshire Coast Path right on our doorstep," said Paul. Steps2Health are already leading weekly health walks in Fishguard, St. Davids and Pembroke Dock. plus at the three Social Service centres and their outreach groups. Walks in Tenby and Pembroke will be starting shortly. More walks will be added as volunteers come forward to train to lead them.
