Stepaside CP School held their annual sports on Thursday, June 21, amidst glorious sunshine. An enjoyable afternoon was had by all who attended - parents, friends and family alike.

Mrs. Sue Hodge and Mrs. Maria Evans, members of the school governing body, supported the events, as did parents Mr. and Mrs. Brown. Mrs. Janet Holt, from the governing body, presided over events, and Mrs. Elizabeth Treharne, vice-chairperson of the governing body, presented the shields and cups to the successful competitors.

The Merriman Cup and Bumper to Bumper Shield were this year presented to Merrix house who accumulated the most points throughout the afternoon.

Headmaster, Mr. Peter Griffiths, thanked parents and friends for their support in making the afternoon such a success. He thanked the children for their efforts and reminded them that whilst there had to be winners, no sports could go ahead without the participation of all the children, because it is the taking part that is important.
