Pupils in Years 1-6 at Stepaside CP School have recently been given the wonderful opportunity to visit their local Tesco store.
Their tour includes finding out about where different fruits and vegetables come from, taking a look at the fish counter, tasting a variety of fruits and cheeses and having a go at making their own loaf of bread which they can then take home.
Visits like these allow pupils to gain an understanding of the variety of foods available on their doorstep and to learn about the many different countries who supply us with our food here in Wales.
Headteacher Mr. Harries commented: "The children are thoroughly enjoying their visits to Tescos. They have all listened very carefully and have learnt a lot about where their food comes from. It is an initiative that we would like to see continue in the future."
