The St. Mary’s Soupermen group, which is still growing, is having a busy time. To date this year we have donated £1,500 to three local charities, Tenby Talking Newspaper, Hafal and the Scouts and Guides movement.

This can only come about by the continued support of the community. Indeed, a recent coffee morning raised £450, which is a testament to this continued support.

As has been stated in previous articles, the Soupermen are a group of like-minded men who enjoy a special and unique camaraderie - when our Rector, Andrew Grace, came up with a suggestion that men of the church community should ‘cater’ occasionally, little did he know of the resounding success of the group.

The group is going from strength to strength and is always ready to welcome new recruits - if any man is interested in joining us, please contact the secretary, Terry Evans, who will be delighted to give you ‘low down’ on the group’s activities.

The next function is the Easter Dinner which will be held on Sunday, April 23. Details and the menu can be found in St. Mary’s Church. Looking further ahead - dates for the church fete, coffee mornings, harvest supper and film evenings will be finalised soon. Watch this space!

Whilst the group is ‘stand alone’, we work very closely with other church groups, including the Mothers’ Union - together we feel we are making a positive difference to the life of the church and its community. Long may it continue!
