Members met in Church House on Tuesday, May 6, for the annual general meeting. Jean opened the meeting with the act of worship. Joy read from the book of Ezekiel and Jean led the group in prayers. It was with great pleasure that Jean welcomed Rector Andrew to the meeting. Janet presented the treasurer's report and Jean gave the secretary's report. Two new members were elected to the committee, namely Mrs. Betty Hooper and Mrs. Pat Davies. The annual general meeting completed, arrangements were made for the Archidiaconal Festival being held in St. Mary's on Tuesday, May 13. Rector Andrew spoke of the need for extending pastoral care in the community. This is already being carried out by members, but we need to develop this further as part of the official pastoral ministry in the Benefice. The meeting concluded with a cup of tea and cakes. Mothers' Union meetings will restart in September with a service in church on September 16 at 2.30 pm.
