Following the summer break, members met on Tuesday evening for a service of Holy Communion which was celebrated by Rev. Dennis Baxter.

Dennis is thanked by all members present for conducting the service in such a meaningful way and for his sensitive prayers for all women - as well as remembering all those who are mothers, he prayed for those who do not have children and for those bringing children up on their own.

A business meeting followed when the programme for the forthcoming year was announced. Speakers include Mrs. Pauline Allen MBE, who will speak of her experiences at Buckingham Palace when she was invested with the MBE, and Kit and John Davis will speak on Harriet's House.

The Christmas lunch was discussed and a decision regarding this will be made at the next meeting. The Diocesan president, Mrs. Ann Gill, is also due to visit the branch in the spring.

The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 2, at 2.30 pm, when the group looks forward to welcoming Mrs. Pauline Allen MBE.
