ST. MARY'S MOTHERS' UNION
On Tuesday, a large number of members and the Wives Group attended Holy Eucharist at 7 pm. The service was taken by Rev. David Jenkins. The organist was Dr. John Harrison, and the lesson was read by Mrs. Vena Davies.
This was followed by an annual general meeting at Church House, during which a minute's silence was held in memory of two members, Mrs. Hilda Rush and Mrs. Margaret Hooper. Everyone's thoughts are also with several members who are indisposed and they are wished a speedy recovery.
The minutes were read by the secretary, Mrs. Jean John, and accepted. She also gave a detailed account of events since taking over as secretary. Treasurer Mrs. Mair Marquiss presented her accounts for the past year. These were accepted.
Enrolling officer Mrs. Ellen Jenkins warmly thanked everyone for their support and was pleased to announce that all committee members and officers were continuing for another year.
Congratulations went to Mrs. Jen Richards for having her poem 'Tenby from the hill' published recently.
Tea hostesses were Mrs. Val Crew, Mrs. Lyn Tebbit, Mrs. Pat Davies and Mrs. Vena Davies.
The next meeting will be at 2.30 pm on Tuesday, January 23, with Mrs. Hammersley on 'Roses to cheer up the winter'.
