At the midday Eucharist on Wednesday, the Rector, Rev. Andrew Davies, undertook the pleasant duties of both giving and receiving.

During the service, donations were presented to three of the many charities supported by the benefice this year and in the past.

Presentations were made to representatives of Pembrokeshire Cancer Support, The Paul Sartori Foundation and the local branch of The Salvation Army.

The funds donated are from part of the proceeds from the Rectory car park and further donations are due to be made to various other charities in the near future.

Following the presentations, the Rector then blessed and dedicated a beautiful seaside tapestry pew cushion which had been made by Mrs. Joan Lathe, of Pembroke Dock.

The tapestry was dedicated to the memory of Joan's parents, James Charles and Gladys Bale, who were married in St. Mary's in 1929 and to Joan's twin sister and her husband, Jean and Brian Allen.

As babies, Joan and Jean were christened in St. Mary's in May 1931 as at the time the family lived at Quarry Cottages.

St. Mary's Church and Tenby have always been very special and significant for Joan, hence her desire to donate this superb piece of handicraft, on which she has been working for many months throughout the past year.
