Worship on Sunday was led by the minister, Rev. Nanette Lewis Head. All were welcomed 'In the name of the father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit'. There was also a special welcome back to several members of the fellowship who had been ill for some time.

The congregational reading from the Old Testament was Psalm 86 'A prayer for help'.

There followed a talk to the children, illustrated with a TV remote control, which gives us limited power, but we do not have a control that will immediately tidy bedrooms, make friendships etc. nor in the walk of faith, turn Jesus on or off.

The talk concluded with this quotation from Jeremiah: "You will seek me and you will find me when you seek me with all your heart," and was followed by a prayer for help to do this.

Thank you to Mrs. Marian Griffiths who read from the New Testament, Philippians 4 10.20 'Thanks for the Gift'.

The theme of the sermon was taken from this passage and was entitled 'The joy of the Lord'. Paul, in writing to the Philippians, rejoices in God, the source of his security. We share together what faith means and the joy and contentment it can bring.

Thank you to Nanette for once again sharing the wonder of our very positive faith, re-affirmed in the words of the final hymn 'And can it be that I should gain an interest in the Father's name'.

Worship will again be led by the minister this Sunday at 10.30 am.

The meeting for prayer and Bible study is in the small vestry at 10.30 am on Thursday, February 22.

There will be no Pilots next week due to the half-term holiday.
