Following the singing of Jerusalem, vice-president, Joy Nixon, welcomed members of St. Issell's WI to the September meeting, and thanked Val Griffiths for the beautiful flowers.

Birthday wishes were extended to Eva Rich, Gwyneth Jenkins and Shelagh Griffin, and congratulations went to the four ladies, Joy Nixon, Shelagh Griffin, Mary Lawrence and Mary Cavell, who had won the shield in the school garden competition of Saundersfoot in Bloom, and to Joan Parry, Madelene Brace and Gwyneth Jenkins who had also won prizes.

The secretary, Jean Roberts, read the record of the July meeting, and the treasurer gave a financial report. Names were taken for the Harvest Supper to be held at Sandyhill Tearooms, and members were reminded that St. Issell's would be the host at the Group meeting on October 13.

The county letter was read, various dates being noted, including the Federation fancy dress quiz in October. An invitation had been received from Milford Haven WI to join them for their Harvest Supper on October 15, and several members expressed an interest.

Following welcome refreshments, as the speaker for the evening was not able to be present, members spent an enjoyable time packing gifts for the bric-a-brac stall to be held the following Saturday at the Regency Hall.

The winner of the competition for a pretty four-inch plate was Eileen Plester and the raffle was won by Pearl Thomas.

Members are reminded that the October meeting will be the Harvest Supper at Sandy Hill Tearooms, and new members are always welcome.
