John Loring, caretaker/manager of St. Catherine’s Island, attended one of Tenderfoot’s training evenings at the Regency Hall, Saundersfoot, to present a cheque in aid and support of the team’s ongoing and continued success.
The Tenderfoot Team was formed in conjunction with the Rotary Clubs of Saundersfoot and Tenby who undertake the training for competitions. The Rotary Clubs can be justifiably proud of the fact that they are the only Rotary Clubs in Wales to undertake such training for the disabled.
John presented a cheque from the Fry Foundation Fund - St. Catherine’s Island Fort Project to the group and stated: “It was a pleasure to meet Charles Hopkinson (team manager) and a few of the guys from the team with beaming smiles who were so obviously looking forward to their evening of training. We would hope that the contribution will go a little way to helping towards some of the unavoidable costs of securing the future of this excellent community-based project. We wish all of them every success in future Welsh Disabled Sports Championships.”
