The April meeting of the Lower Landsker Trefoil Guild took the form of a walk from Amroth to Colby Gardens, led by Barbara Morris (writes N.E.).

The weather was very kind to us and it was good to see the signs of spring in evidence, with primroses and bluebells beginning to bloom and the surprise of a beautiful azalea in all its glory at the end of our walk.

We were delighted to be joined by Betty’s daughter, Tanya, all the way from Leeds. Tanya, formerly Hooper, was a Brownie, Guide and Ranger in Tenby before her marriage, and is now a Brownie Guider herself. She couldn’t resist the chance to have a photo with her ‘old’ Guiders, Margaret Peake, Barbara Pegg, Barbara Morris and Nicole Evans.

It’s so good to see former members getting into Guiding themselves and, we think, shows what a great movement Girlguiding is. So all you ex-Guides and Brownies, take a leaf out of Tanya’s book and volunteer - Girlguiding Pembrokeshire really needs you.

After our walk, a business meeting (and chat) was held in the Bothy Tearooms where the hardest decision of the day was which cake to choose - all being delicious and too tempting.

Members will be hosting an evening on April 29 for all the Guiders of the district to come along, enjoy some refreshments and get to know us and to find out what we can offer to local units in the way of skills and general help. Althea and Nicole are already helping to fill the gap at Tenby Rainbows.

Permission has been granted for a bench to be placed at the Welsh Guide Centre, Broneirion, in memory of the wonderful Doreen Hammersley who loved to visit and paint there. If anyone would like to donate to this bench, please contact Margaret Peake or Nicole Evans. We hope to arrange a ceremony at Broneirion to dedicate the bench later in the year when all will be welcome to join us.

Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, May 4, when we will visit the new Tenby Brewery. Members are asked to meet there at 11.30 am.

New members are always welcome to join us - you don’t have to have been a member of the movement, just have an interest in helping the girls and leaders in any way, and having fun along the way.
