Chief of the Chicken Trotters, Morran Boot, had a broad smile on his face on Friday.
The spring-like weather of the weekend had persuaded no fewer than 21 Trotters to leave the hutch to do battle, the best turnout for some time.
Some old faces were back in action and some not so old, and it was one of those, Dave Henry, who strutted his way to victory with a fine total of 31 points, earning himself a tidy £2.40 in the process.
A point behind and sharing second position were John Beechey and Rick Lewis, who pocketed £1.20 each.
Doug Havard had his entry fee returned for the second week running after bagging the booby, although his score remains a mystery.
We can reveal, however, that par for the day was an impressive 27. There were no twos.
