Stepaside CP School have enjoyed a very successful year on the sporting front.

At the end of the spring term, the football team qualified for the Pembs. Finals Festival for the first time.

On Finals Night they qualified for the semi-final by drawing with Grove CP and Priory CP and by beating Prendergast CP 2-0, with Josh Bevan and Ryan Howells scoring the goals.

The semi-final was very tense, but a goal from Josh Bevan in extra-time put them into the final.

The final against Milford Juniors was a very tight affair, with Milford scoring in the first half. Despite all their best efforts, Stepaside were unable to draw level, but were very proud to finish runners-up in this county event.

In the autumn term at the Urdd tournament, the boys were unbeaten against Johnston, Sageston, Pennar, Pembroke Dock and Hakin, but missed out on the final through goal difference.

In the summer term, the school's athletics team finished a very creditable third at the County Athletics Championships.

The points scorers were as follows: Josh Bevam 800m, 1st; Lara Evans, shot putt, 2nd; Josh Owen, hurdles, 3rd; Jason Regimbal, long jump, 4th; Sam Morgan, high jump, 4th; Katie Lewis, high jump, 4th; Hollie Devine, long jump, 4th and 100m, 6th.

Josh Bevan, Josh Owen and Lara Evans were due to represent the county in an event this week.
