Sir,
May I pay tribute both to the individuals and to the service that I benefited from two years ago at this time?
I fell ill with a bout of extreme low blood pressure at a family event, becoming unconscious with no warning.
The hotel called the emergency services who were there very quickly, moving me to the ambulance, putting me on a drip and oxygen, where I recovered consciousness.
With full A&E services 25 minutes away, the speedy arrival, equipment, training and skills of paramedics are vital for those like me in an emergency, potentially fatal, condition needing immediate action on the spot.
Long may their service continue and be improved.
So my special thanks to Steve, whose skill and speedy action brought me back to the world.
Harry Gardiner,
