Sir, I would like through your paper to express my gratitude to the people of Tenby on another highly successful 'Terry Hermann Bass Competition.' Once again everybody has excelled in all aspects of this very special day to me. It wasn't the best of days weatherwise, but this was compensated for by the determination and enthusiasm of the competitors and the overwhelming support of all those who turned up on the night at the weigh-in auction at the Hope and Anchor. I would like to congratulate Phil Whittaker on winning, Louis Beynon on an excellent second and Dale Hilling on a deserved third. I would like to thank the following for once again organising such a highly successful event in aid of Cancer Research UK: Anthony Tromans, John Handicott and Dai the Boot. With regard to sponsorship, I would like to thank Karl Long, of Haven Colour Print UK, main sponsor and provider of the excellent event posters, and Darren Griffiths and Bambi, of Haven Holidays, for two holidays donated. Thanks also go to the local businesses that donated so generously. Loz Phillips for donating his tripping boat for the day and Charlie Parker for his time in running it, with all proceeds going to Cancer Research UK. Keith, of Tenby Angling, numerous rods and reels; Morris Brothers, rod and reel; Fiveways Garage, champagne and chocolates; and the Bush meat draw. These are just the ones that come to mind. There were so many generous donations on the night that I cannot recall them all, so a big thank you to everyone who contributed to the competition, raffle or auction. This competition is now so well supported, that I genuinely cannot keep track of everyone's generosity. So, in closing, I would like to express my sincere thanks to all those who participated, be it with a rod or a glass in their hand; it is you who make this competition what it is, and your generosity that ensures it goes from strength to strength year on year. Once again Jason and staff hosted us in ideal surroundings at the Hope and Anchor; a special thank you to the boys on the barbecue. Through everyone's efforts this year, the competition raised £2,732 on the night. I feel so very proud that Terry is remembered in this way and that such great support is shown for this very worthy cause. I hope everybody enjoyed the occasion and look forward to next year's; hopefully we will have the weather with us then. Thank you for your continued support, feel proud of yourselves people of Tenby, you excelled once again. Chris Thomas
