On Wednesday, May 18, at Plas Hyfryd Hotel, Narberth, a surprise 80th birthday party was held for Narberth's former county councillor and five times Mayor of the town, Clr. Eric Feetham. Over 100 guests and family gathered to wish him happy birthday, which was enjoyed over a sumptuous three-course meal. Friends and colleagues sung happy birthday and praised him for his life long service to Narberth and Pembrokeshire. Clr. Feetham was presented with a new Narberth award devised by Clr. Henry Langen 'The key to Narberth' is a bronze plaque with an ornate Celtic-designed key set in the plaque, which has been made by Martin Bellwood, of Longford, Clynderwen. It is hoped that this award will be adopted by the town council, and if and when a citizen has done something of great worth, will be awarded this plaque as the highest honour Narberth can bestow. Apart from the birthday party, the guests raised £600 for the diabetic clinic at Narberth Health Centre, and Dr. Patsy Allan, received the cheque from Clrs. Eric Feetham and Henry Langen.
