The first meeting of the South Pembs. Travel Fund for Sick Children Fund after the summer break was held on Monday.

Chairman, Mrs. Wendy Bell welcomed everyone and was glad to report, that no great demands had been made on the fund during that period. Three requests had been granted, and there was one pending. She thanked Mr. and Mrs. John Bowyer for handling the paperwork and setting up the accounts.

Secretary Mrs. Karen Powell had reserved a table at the Christmas Fayre in the De Valence, Tenby, and asked if the committee wanted a 'theme', or as last year, a raffle and sale of pin badges.

A treasurer's report was given by Mr. Gordon Bell who was pleased that the account was healthy, but he was looking forward to the boost it would have from the coming 'Tenby Evening.' He expressed his thanks to Mrs. Gwyneth Peters for keeping the books so meticulously. Donations from two organisations had been received and a collection made at a recent rugby match. Sincere thanks were given to Mr. Malcolm Brace and Tenby RFC.

The fundraising evening on November 6 at St. Mary's Church Hall was then discussed. The format last year had proved so successful, it would be repeated this year. The chef/proprietor of the Blue Dolphin Hotel, Tenby, Mr. Roger Bannister would give the food demonstration, harpist Mrs. Jean Williams would once again perform and this year would be accompanied by her pupil Miss Alexandra Powell. Committee member Mrs. Jan Griffiths will organise floral demonstrations by Tenby Floral Art and staff of Four Seasons Florists, and as the theme this year would have a Christmas flavour, ideas for gift wrapping and decorations would if possible be included.

A history update would be compiled for the programme as the mileage sponsored is far in excess now of the £75,000 quoted last year. Karen will start on the ticket and programme lay out immediately with the help of John, Gordon and Wendy. Ann and Jan already have sites for ticket sales.

Wendy thanked everyone for their continued hard work, and a further meeting to discuss the November 6 evening in more detail would be arranged.
