A soup and pudding lunch, in aid of Pembrokeshire Counselling Services, was held recently (writes C.H.). Organised by The Manorbier Newton Fundraisers, a change of location to Lamphey Village Hall proved to be a wise decision.

The event was extremely well-supported and everyone had a very happy time, chatting and relaxing. The choices of soups and desserts gave many a difficult time; the table of cold puddings looked stunning!

So I can hear you saying: “How did you do?” It is always a surprise and pleasure when we add up the money. We are thrilled to say an amazing £865 was raised, which in turn is being match-funded by Barclays Bank. The final sum raised will be £1,730, fantastic. Barclays were represented by Helen Cole and Margot Brown, who rolled up their sleeves and got serving. Thanks go to them both and to Barclays Bank.

We are a very small community here, but we believe a special bond exists between us so that we can achieve considerable things. We would like to thank everyone for supporting this wonderful charity. We are very appreciative of all the extra help on the day and for donations of food items and raffle prizes.

It is a terrific feeling to know you have made a bit of a difference to a charity as special as Pembrokeshire Counselling Services. Each year, over the last 20 years, they have helped hundreds of local people overcome difficulties with feelings, life events, work and relationships.
