Sir,
After yet another road accident involving a stationary car in Lower Park Road, Tenby, on Easter Monday, I felt I had to speak out.
Over the years there has been a fatality (an elderly gentleman), a serious injury to another local gentleman living on that road and many other vehicle accidents and yet still nothing has been done to make this stretch of road from the multi-storey car park to under and past the railway bridge more safe.
At least three times I have just driven under the bridge and come face to face with a car coming towards me the wrong way up this one-way street. I usually drive slower down this busy stretch of road because I am a local and I know what I could meet, but holidaymakers are not warned of this danger.
I have also many times met cars coming out of the car park which have turned up the wrong way towards the cenotaph, and have waved many of them down.
Surely some type of traffic calming measure should be placed on this road, perhaps warning signs and a minimum speed sign or a camera on top of the bridge.
Many times I have witnessed youngsters speeding down Park Road like it's a speed track and cutting the corner coming up Penally Hill into traffic travelling down that hill.
Please let something be done before yet another accident happens.
Gill Skyrme,
Tenby.
