The League of Friends at Tenby Cottage Hospital received a boost this week thanks to a group of soldiers from the 10 (Assaye) Battery Royal Artillery.
The soldiers, who have been holding their annual firing camp at Manorbier Range, turned to pedal power on Saturday when they staged a sponsored row and cycle the distance from Tenby back to their barracks at Thorney Island in Hampshire.
The aim was to raise funds to be shared between a charity of the soldiers' choice and one of the Mayor of Tenby's, Clr. Mrs. Caroline Thomas, to say thankyou to the local community for the welcome they have always received when they have been in the area.
As a result of their efforts, the Friends have been presented with a cheque for in the region of £700.
Seen here with Clr. Mrs. Thomas and the soldiers are Town Crier, John Thomas, Mayoress, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane, and chairman of the League of Friends, Mrs. Pat Wright, along with Welsh ladies Jo-Jo, Chloe and Hannah.
