Tenby United Seconds travelled to Crymych on Saturday for a friendly fixture. On what was an overcast afternoon, with the going heavy underfoot, the game was played in a good spirit. The visiting Tenby side scored in the first five minutes, with winger Aled Griffiths sprinting fully 50 metres for a well-worked touchdown. Tenby were superbly led by Chris Brace, ably supported by Sam Smith, Nicky Rees and Gavin Brace (looking sharp after a long spell out through injury). They did not have things all their own way, however. They were up against a gutsy Crymych outfit and went into half-time only 12-5 up. Whatever manager Chris 'Faddy' Thomas said at half-time certainly worked, with the red and blacks scoring almost straight from the restart when Youth product John Sheasby rounded off a well-worked move. After that, the Crymych heads began to drop, with the United boys running hard and showing great skills. Tries soon came thick and fast, with Chris Brace, Delwyn Brace, Neil Duffy and Griffiths again, crossing the line. Captain Brace also kicked five out of six conversions to cap a fine performance. Credit must go to the Youth boys who took the big step up to senior rugby and acquitted themselves well. Team: D. Rees, A. Griffiths, G. Brace, J. Davies, N. Duffy, D. Brace (capt.), N. Rowe, N. Brace, N. Rees, S. Smith, J. Sheasby, L. Britts, C. Hamilton, D. Richards, J. Martin, R. Milnes, C. Thomas.
