Planning permission has been granted for the construction of a skate park at Narberth's Town Moor. "Over the last few months, there have been many hurdles to jump with regard to this successful planning application, but finally we are there," said county councillor, Wynne Evans, following Monday's decision. "I have been in constant dialogue with both our planning department and the skate group, having made numerous visits to householders adjoining the proposed site to give assurances that this is a much-needed development for our young people," he explained. "The skate group committee, led by Val Bradley, themselves gathered a substanial number of signatures for a petition supporting the park and a vigorous noise pollution survey was undertaken by public protection officers from County Hall. "Now, I will be supporting the group's bid to the Big Lottery Fund for backing for this long overdue project," added Clr. Evans. The skate park will have facilities for both skateboarders and BMX bikers. Said skate group member, Toby Bradley: "This is brilliant news."

County councillor Wynne Evans joins members of the Narberth Skate Group in giving the thumbs up to the news that planning permission has been granted for a skate park at the Town Moor.
