Members of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority's planning committee are to undertake a site visit at the proposed site if the new school in Tenby. An application from Pembrokeshire County Council, for the demolition of the existing infant school and erection of a new English medium community school to be sited adjacent to the existing junior school on Heywood Lane, is due to be considered by the authority's development management committee at a future meeting. Last week, members agreed to undertake a site meeting as head of development at Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, Vicki Hirst, explained that it was considered 'essential' that the committee inspect the site prior to considering the application. "This is a major application, situated within a residential area, with the new school being situated to the west of a number of properties in Serpentine Road. It is considered that it is essential that members are shown the site to fullt understand the proposals prior to a full deliberation of the issues," stated Ms Hirst in a report that came before members.
