Tenby's former lifeboat, the RFA Sir Galahad, is temporarily in service on the Isle of Wight. The recently re-fitted Tyne-class lifeboat is replacing Bembridge's lifeboat, the Max Aitken III, which has gone for a major refit and will not return until March. The Sir Galahad is now part of the RNLI's relief fleet. News of the vessel's arrival at Bembridge was spotted in the Isle of Wight County Press by former Tenby resident, Michael Dowsett, who lives in Freshwater on the IOW, and who kindly sent us a cutting of the article.
