York-based singer songwriter Mark Wynn, currently in the middle of a summer tour of the UK, is taking in Tenby on his travels.
His last CD, was referred to by one eagle eyed reviewer as being 'anti-art, a two-finger salute to all of the self-pitying, self-absorbed tortured genius singer-songwriters', while Mark describes his work as "a song scribbler, a scribbler of songs, songs which are kinda like poems, poems which aren't really anything and anythings that are written on intercity coach travel to amuse".
Mark's favourite album when he was growing up was Supergrass' I Should Coco and he lists Lou Reed, and The Replacements, amongst his influences.
Tom Robinson, of BBC 6 Music, said the following of Mark, who is soon to release his next album: "Like the early John Cooper Clarke or Mark E. Smith, Mark Wynn has the potential for national treasure status 20 years down the line. And that's not something you'll hear me say often or lightly".
Following a set at the Big Cheese Festival in Caerphilly on July 29, Mark will be playing two gigs in Tenby, one at The Lifeboat Tavern on Tuesday, July 31, while the following day he'll be at Cafe Vista.
