The Tenby and District branch of Diabetes UK recently celebrated its 25th anniversary at the Cartwheel Restaurant in Amroth. A cheque for £1,900 was presented to Mr. Joe Cuff from Diabetes UK Wales.
After thanking everyone for the cheque, Joe went on to tell everyone that to date Tenby and District branch has given Diabetes UK £150,000 and is the second highest fund-raiser in the UK, even though it is one of the smallest branches.
During the evening, a floral arrangement was presented to Mrs. Meg Ellis, a founder member of the branch and its first president.
The branch is now busy preparing for the annual 'Walk in the Park' around Llys-y-fran, which is being held on June 4. Last year the walk raised £7,500. If anyone would like to take part, please ring Maureen on Saundersfoot 812025 or 811241 or Gaynor on Saundersfoot 813889 for registration and sponsor forms.
