Mrs. Barbara Wilson (right), of Narberth, has received the prestigious Silver Badge Award from the RNLI. The award is given sparingly, as branch chairman Graham Searle explained, when the award was presented at a recent fundraising event at Slebech Park.

It is only presented after a lengthy period of dedicated loyalty and exceptional service to the RNLI and Mrs. Wilson had qualified for her unstinting service in the Narberth branch for a period of over 30 years, having also been branch secretary until retiring earlier this year.

Mr. Searle then invited Mrs. Marian Lewis (left), the founder chairman of the branch and longest serving member, to present the award to Mrs. Wilson.

In accepting the award, Mrs. Wilson said she was very surprised and honoured to receive the Silver Badge, which she would wear with pride. She would regard it as an award to the Narberth branch and its hard-working members.
