The staff and volunteer team at Ty Hafan Tenby are delighted to present to the public, the shop’s first silent auction. The shop recently received a generous donation of what is believed to be a Collinson’s rocking horse. Indications suggest it was manufactured between the mid 19th to early 20th century. Given the age of this piece, the condition is quite remarkable and its current position in the shop window has certainly caused quite a stir from locals and tourists alike.

A picture that has been brought in to the shop this week shows The Queen and Princess Margaret pictured on a horse quite similar to the one currently up for auction. It seems the Royal family own many rocking horses quite like the one Ty Hafan have on display.

The silent auction will be continuing until close of business Wednesday, October 4. Anyone interested in placing a bid is invited to pop in to the shop. The staff/volunteers will happily register any new bids. Bids can also be taken over the ’phone by calling (01834) 843847.
