A group of runners from Narberth have put their best forward to raise the magnificent sum of £7,000 for charity.
They raised the money for the Teenage Cancer Trust in memory of Narberth teenager Shelley Harries, who tragically developed cancer and spent 12-18 months receiving treatment on the TCT ward.
Shelley, who sadly lost her fight against cancer last January, was actually the second patient to use the ward after its opening.
As Shelley was such a well-loved and inspirational young lady, many people in Narberth wanted to do something in her memory.
It was suggested to Andrew Jenkins around May, by Mrs. Gaynor Davies, that it would be nice if he and her husband Nigel Davies, ran the Cardiff half marathon in memory of Shelley. The pair had run the Cardiff half a couple of times before.
After speaking with Shelley's parents, Beverley and Paul Harries, they decided to go ahead and organise this event.
As more and more people around Narberth heard about the event, they too wanted to become involved.
The team grew from the original four-person team to approximately 20 runners participating on the day.
They had pink t-shirts printed with Shelley's photo on the back and they named themselves 'Shelley's Runners'.
In total, they raised £7,025, with very generous donations from many people. Some money was raised through the Just Giving pages on the internet.
A special thank you must go to Ms. Shelley Morris, who raised a total of £1,689.50 single-handed and became their top fundraiser - she also ran the half marathon.
Shelley would personally like to thank two main sponsors, Pisgah Chapel Sunday School and Dicky and Gill Parry, of Dyrham Service Station, Robeston Wathen, who are Shelley's employers.
A massive thank you must go to all who have sponsored 'Shelley's Runners' as without their kind donations they would never have made the total of just over £7,000.
A thank you must go to all the runners, helpers and supporters who joined them on the day in Cardiff or who were supporting them back at home in Narberth.
