When people see Joanne Brokenshaw from Saundersfoot, they can be forgiven for giving her a double take, for she is a dead-ringer for singing sensation Charlotte Church.
Seventeen-year-old Joanne, who is studying childcare at Pembrokeshire College, was first spotted whilst she was working at the Upper Crust Tea Rooms in Tenby three years ago by Sean Connery lookalike Hugh Lewis.
"Hugh came up to me and said I looked like Charlotte Church and gave me his business card, but I didn't do anything about it then," Joanne, of 6 Gorse Hill, Swallowdale, told the Observer this week.
"Then on a holiday to Tenerife in December 1998 I kept being asked if I was Charlotte Church, and from then on people have been doing it ever since," she continued.
"I really can't see it myself, but we are the same age and we do have many similarities. I had curly hair when she did; we share the same interests and hobbies and I was born in Cardiff too."
But does Joanne, who works at the Kookaba Restaurant, have a voice like an angel?
"I can sing, but haven't got as good a voice as she has," smiled Joanne, who used to play the cornet and has appeared on stage with local musical society, Stagestruck.
A former pupil at St. Teilo's RC School and Greenhill School, Tenby, Joanne is now planning to join a top lookalike agency and will also be working with Hugh, who she will be accompanying later this month to a charity summer fete at the Oldermond School in Neath.
