WHITLAND 11 pts. BRIDGEND ATHLETIC 16

The Borderers went down to a narrow defeat for the second week in a row, losing 16-11 at home to Bridgend in their Divison One West match on Saturday. After 13 minutes, centre Stuart Morris gave the visitors the lead, converting a penalty kick. Bridgend soon extended the scoreline with a try from full-back Simon Evans after a counter-attack. Morris added the conversion and gave the visitors a 13-nil lead with another penalty not long after. Whitland hit back before the break, with hooker Alan Proctor crossing over for an unconverted tray. After the break, the Borderers reduced the lead even further when fly-half Emyr Williams converted two penalties, to take the home team within two points of their opponents. However, on 71 minutes, another penalty kick by Bridgend's Morris made sure that his side took the points home.
