An air, land and river search was launched last Thursday following the report of a missing man. The search was sparked at 8.15 am following a request from Dyfed Powys Police to HM Coastguard to assist them searching the upper reaches of the River Cleddau, the banks and woods around Blackpool Mill, Canaston Bridge, and Llawhaden, for a missing 41-year-old Carmarthen man. The South Pembrokeshire sector manager, coastguard rescue teams from Tenby, Manorbier, Broadhaven and Dale, together with Angle RNLI Inshore Lifeboat, the rescue helicopter from Chivenor, and Brecon Mountain Rescue Team joined numerous police sections, including dogs and river craft, to carry out this task. The inshore lifeboat and the helicopter searched the water, sand/mud banks and shores, while the foot personnel carried out searches of the surrounding dense undergrowth and woods. The search was concluded without a result at approximately 7.15 pm when the man was found safe and well.
