The exhibition, Sculpture by the Sea: An Exhibition of Primary Schools Projects 2013, was officially opened at Tenby Museum and Art Gallery by Marten Lewis, manager of the Darwin Experience.

The exhibition, featuring photographs of sculptural works undertaken by schools working with artists, and decorated (in batik) t-shirts and wall hangings, is a result of two specific projects - Eco-Art photographic exhibition of sculpture and Home and Away, a Bio-diversity batik project.

These projects received sponsorship from Natural Resources Wales, the Arts Council of Wales, the Welsh Assembly, the National Lottery, Countryside Council for Wales, Pembrokeshire County Council and South Hook LNG.

The Eco-Art saw eight primary schools participate from Pembrokeshire and Swansea, whilst the batik hangings and t-shirts were created by Year 4 pupils of Tavernspite School.

Marten Lewis was introduced by Dr. Kathy Talbot, honorary curator of Tenby Museum, while Sara Holden, an artist who had worked with the Swansea-based school Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg Llwynderw, also spoke about the importance of the projects.

The exhibition runs until Saturday, November 23.

From Monday, the museum starts its winter opening hours (Tuesday - Saturday, closed Sunday and Monday)
