Sustrans recently visited Lamphey School to educate the children on how to scoot safely and to promote active travel to school.

Howard Yates, Sustrans officer, provided a workshop for all age groups. All children from Reception Class upwards were shown a Powerpoint presentation of safety checks, skills and scooter fun.

The children were then invited to have a free safety checks on their scooters in school.

Each class was taught basic skills such as road safety, good manners, how to use their brakes properly and stop safely, and some stunts!

The children enjoyed scooting around the playground, through cones, racing and simple stunts. A great time was had by all!
